Asanas

(click on the blue links to get to those places)

The postures of yoga are called asanas.  Always remember that we do not ever strain a joint of the body in yoga.  Instead we go slowly.  Little by little, sometimes over the course of many days, we achieve the posture.

Ernest Wood’s Yoga gives an excellent overview of the major asanas.

I’m going to give four asanas which I consider useful, explaining in each case why I have found them so.  These are Cobra, The Shoulder-Stand, The Half-Lotus, and an Informal Lotus
