Yoga is from a Sanskrit root meaning “yoke”, or link. It is a way which links the various levels of our being, given by Ramacharaka as spirit, spirit-mind, intellectual mind, subconscious mind, energy or vital force, and the physical body.

It is an all-encompassing philosophy, divided into the disciplines of Hatha Yoga (physical), Gnani Yoga (wisdom), Raja Yoga (the mind and will), Bhakti Yoga (religion and spirituality), and Karma Yoga (activity, including livelihood).

If the above listing is regarded, it can be seen that everything developmental that you do is in the domain of one of these categories.

Recommended books are Yoga, by Ernest Wood, and any of the volumes of Yogi Ramacharaka.
