SWAHA

Godhead rules the universe.  He creates it, He sustains it, and He rules it.  Everything in it consists of His very substance, the substance of Brahman.

Our problem is that we have free will.  For this reason it is not automatically assumed that we have accepted that rulership.

Overtly accepting it places us in a different category, one which has an easier road, and more privileges.

You have a personal will.  I have a personal will.  The Godhead has a personal will.  The name of the Godhead’s personal will is swaha.

Committing yourself to swaha carries certain limitations,  For example, you might bind an offender to his karma, but the Godhead can overrule that, and when that offender reaches a point in a future life at which that karma would befall him, it might be decided that he no longer needs the lesson, and the Godhead would cut him loose from it.

It is not enough to simply rote-utter the word.  You have to consciously mean that you accept the personal rulership, and you must affirm that acceptance frequently, to establish that you still want that.
